.40 S&W/10mm 200 Gr. RN - Sized to .401 (Typical). Other sizes available upon request call or email for options.
Popular among USPSA shooters wanting a heavier bullet to make major.
Accurate and feeds great in any pistol.
I recently began working up a major load for my 5" STI Edge. I have tried several different bullet designs including FMJ, TMJ, plated, and coated lead with a few different powders of varying charge weights. I found that a combination of 4.9 grains of Hodgdon Longshot over a federal small rifle primer with the Bayou Bullet 200gr round nose seated at an OAL of 1.180 produced a ten round average velocity of 838fps which exceeds USPSA major power factor requirements. Most impressive about this combination was the fact that of the ten rounds fired I had an extreme spread of 14fps with a standard deviation of 4fps, all loaded on a progressive press! Of the 100,000+ rounds of ammo I've reloaded this is the most consistent pistol load I've ever measured. As far as accuracy is concerned the Bayou Bullets hang right there with premium jacketed brands and far exceed that of which I was able to print with plated brands in my gun. At 25 yards standing unsupported I was able to hold a 20 round pattern inside of 4 inches. The round nose design feeds flawlessly in my gun and I did not notice any abnormal amounts of lead or powder fouling after a 200 round practice session. That said I ordered a 2200 count case of these bullets, after I load and fire a few thousand more I should be able to give a fair assessment of the overall performance of these bullets. Recently I puchased the 200gn Bayou Bullets to try in Production and Limited. I previously used 180gn Bayou Bullets. With the 200gn I was able to drop my powder down to 2.6gn Titegroup for my production gun and 3.8gn for my limited gun. My personal opinion is that I felt a little less recoil with these rounds. I tested my splits and found that they actually decreased .02 seconds. I also did not notice a loss in time regaining the sight picture between shots. Bottom line is BAYOU BULLETS are awesome. Whether you go with the 200gn or even the 180gn bullet they have a great product and excellent customer service. Keep up the great work. Joseph M. on 16th Jul 2015
Just got my second case of 200 grain .40 bullets. My gun eats these things like candy and they run through my bullet feeder die/tubes without any problems. Joe on 15th Jul 2015
Over the last few years I have used 9mm, 38 cal, 40 S&W / 10 mm and 45 cal bullets and found Bayou to be very accurate and economical. In a given bullet I receive greater velocity with Bayou over plated bullets using the same powder charge allowing me to reduce powder charge to meet power factors. Thanks for a great product. Great bullets and crazy fast shipping. I use nothing else. Unknown on 6th May 2015
Bayou bullets are the most accurate bullets I have shot. Been in USPSA since the late 90's and have shot quite a lot of different bullets. Very pleased with the bullets . Great customer service and fastest shipping . no need to look for any other bullet, just call Donnie and he will take care of you. Thanks, Curtis Wilson A51773 Curtis Wilson A51773 on 8th Apr 2015
I have a tight chamber, and these allow me the comfort of loading the 200's long and pass the plunk/spin for peace of mind mike c on 30th Mar 2015
just got back from testing the 200 gr. vs. 180 gr. and the 200 gr. wins for my Glock 35. And my last four stage USPSA was my best performance.....so obviously pleased with the product that has excellent delivery, packaging and price. Only problem is my wife can't lift them from the porch but we have honest neighbors :-) Unknown on 18th Mar 2015
I am using an Akai gun with an Infinity Ultimatch barrel. I had occasional failures to feed when using the .401 projectiles, so I ordered the .400's. They feed reliably and shoot incredibly well. I highly recommend these for Limited major PF guys looking for a nice, soft load. Unknown on 9th Mar 2015
