.40 S&W/10mm 140 Gr. FP - Sized to .401 (Typical). Other sizes available upon request call or email for options.
This is the lightest .40 S&W/10mm bullet we offer. Great bullet for “Steel” Shooting. Very Accurate as well.
3000 Count - Case
Initially tried Bayou Bullets as a cost effective solution for practice and local matches. The claim was that they smoked less than regular cast bullets and about the same as jacketed (w/ lead base exposed) . It is very true! I use the 140gn for .40 minor as it provides a great recoil impulse that is not to snappy nor too slow and with a good powder combination such as 320, wst, solo 1000. I have very consistent, and accurate ammo that I am confident in using even at matches that count!
Also cleanup is a breeze. There is only powder residue to dispose of and no lead build up. I just run a dry boresnake through and it's good to go.
Cost efficient, accurate, less smoke, and easy clean up. All this and Donnie's outstanding customer service. This is why I keep coming back! Devon Penrod on 8th Dec 2014
Shooting this out of a 3 chamber 3 port compensator. I usually try to stay around 1300 fps (so my Shooting Chrony says). Have taken another company's "HI-TEK" 140 grn offering to over 1400 fps. Barrel and compensator stays pretty clean. After over 1500 rounds from both the other company and Bayou, only slightly more build up in my comp than jacketed bullets. But, I get better accuracy from "HI-TEK" coated bullets than I do out of 155 or 165 grn Montana Gold JHPs at 25 yards. All I do to clean my comp is use a Q-Tip to swab on Kroil and Shooter's Choice to mop up the carbon fouling. With this 140 grn head, I usually use 8.5-9.0 grns Power Pistol or 9.2-9.8 grns LongShot. I have two compensated 1911 45s and a compensated STI 2011 38 Super. Bayou will be getting all of my "HI-TEK" business now that they have upgraded/updated their website...don't have to call them anymore. I'll be trying this head out on 40SW "non-compensated" pistols...maybe when I put in another order for 3000 140grn 10mm Bayou bullets...should be soon. Dinosaur on 21st Aug 2014
