9mm 150 Gr. SWC - Sized to .356 (Typical) Other sizes available upon request call or email for options.
Originally designed for the .38 Super, this bullet is popular among shooters looking for a heavy SWC in 9mm.

As usual, Bayou had the order at my door in a very reasonable time. Coating seemed to be very uniform. Bullet sizing was very consistent and weight was close enough.
There's not a lot of official load data out there, so workup loads are very much at your own risk. I think just about every experienced reloader understands that. That being said, I based my starting OAL on (a) what passed the plunk test in my most finicky barrel [Walther PPQ M.2 5"] and (b) what would fit in the magazine. The Walther barrel is so finicky that meeting its dimensions for a passed plunk test also ensured it would fit a magazine.
As expected, I could load the bullets a little longer for all the other 9mms in the collection. Ranging from; Beretta, CZ, Glock and Sig. Some guns shot the experimental bullets just fine; 3" at 25yards on the initial loads. Some guns threw more of a pattern than a group - nothing new - not all guns like every bullet/powder combination.
The first round of bullets was loaded with Titegroup in charges ranging from 2.5 to 3.0 grains. 5" barrels easily achieved minor power factor with 2.5 grains. 4.5" barrel needed 2.7grains and a 3.75" barrel hit minor power factor at 2.9 grains.

Tested in two OALs, four brands of magazine, two guns. Feeding is 100% so far, and smoother than the more common 147 gr flat point. Accuracy is better, too.
The only thing that kept it from a 5 star rating was the deep base band that bulges the thicker cases in my mixed brass. That shows up in the gauge and requires a trip through the Carbide Factory Crimp Die, about 10% of the rounds loaded. Jim on 12th Aug 2015
Ordered a box of the 9mm 150gr semi-wadcutters to give them a try in my XDM 5.25 9mm, placed the order on a Thursday around lunchtime on the east coast, box was delivered to me Saturday morning in good condition, cant ask for better than that. The SWC's had a very uniform coating on them, loaded nicely, and shot very well. Personally I like a heavy bullet under a fast powder like titegroup or solo 1000 and under these loaded light have a super soft recoil but still make power factor. All thats left to do is tweek the charge a little and order in bulk. Would definately recommend these. David on 5th Sep 2014
